Another step towards sustainability: Danone has also joined the Green Pledge
Danone Magyarország Kft. also acted in support of the enforcement of environmental protection and sustainability in the market of the marketing and advertising industry, when it joined the Self-Regulatory Advertising Board (ÖRT), the Hungarian Marketing Association (MMSZ) and the Association of Hungarian Communication Agencies (MAKSZ) for the Green Pledge initiative.
Environmental protection, appropriate representation of the environment and the so-called Avoiding “greenwashing” is an increasingly pressing task for the marketing and advertising industry – and the FMCG sector is no exception. Among other reasons, Danone Magyarország Kft. joined the Green Pledge call along with 35 other companies. The companies signed their letter of intent on January 30.
The Green Pledge program covers all areas
Although the Hungarian Advertising Code has long covered the design, production and publication aspects of advertising – also in relation to environmental issues – the Green Pledge goes beyond this. The companies undertake to follow the aspects defined in the program when implementing the advertising materials they create. This includes applying sustainability claims with due professional care and in accordance with the law, minimizing negative effects on the environment during advertising and protecting natural resources. Furthermore, it is an important decision of the Green Pledge that when presenting situations related to the disposal of garbage in advertisements, they use visual and content elements related to selective waste collection, and do not show any scenes in which environmental polluting activity is visible.
By joining the Green Pledge, Danone takes another important step towards the fulfillment of the company’s vision “We have one life and one planet” (OPOH).
Years of close work with the Self-Regulating Advertising Board only strengthened the company’s desire to join the initiative. “As a responsible food distributor, it is essential for us to pay attention to the burning issues of sustainability. Joining the Green Pledge on behalf of our entire company is another confirmation that we are not only concerned with the healthy lifestyle of our consumers, but also with the future of the planet,” said Beáta Várkonyi, director of Danone’s corporate relations, who is the company’s representative and signatory. attended the ceremony.
