Hungarians eat less bread than Europeans
In Hungary, the per capita annual bread consumption is 37 kilograms, while the European average is 50 kilograms – the Jókenyér Ludwig & Mentesi Kft. told MTI on Tuesday.
In the past 15 years, the Hungarian bread consumption habits changed significantly: while around 2000, the population mainly consumed white breads, nowadays the consumers are increasingly looking for brown and wholemeal products in stores – according to GfK Hungária Market Research Institute. (MTI)
