Technological advancements and business travel
The latest research from International Workplace Group (IWG), the leading provider of hybrid workspace solutions, including the Spaces and Regus brands, looks at the changing nature and frequency of business travel.
The International Workplace Group report highlights that rising costs, environmental concerns and geopolitical uncertainty are leading business leaders to prioritize strategic meetings, while routine meetings between global companies are increasingly taking place online using available technology.
The study of more than 500 business leaders* found that the rapid advancement of digital infrastructure means that the majority of functional meetings can now be held online. More than three-quarters (77%) of business leaders say technology allows them to conduct their “regular” business meetings virtually.
This is not to say that hybrid working has made business travel redundant. The majority of CEOs (87%) believe that technology will never replace the value of strategically important in-person meetings, and business travel will always play a crucial role in strengthening relationships and closing significant deals.
