Eckes-Granini acquires fruit juice concentrate producer in Germany
Eckes-Granini, one of Europe’s leading juice producers, has acquired Wolfgang Jobmann, a specialist in the production of fruit drink concentrates in Germany.
The Hamburg-based company has been marketing concentrates for fruit juices, nectars and refreshments under the Oranka and Frisco brands and offer a full range of solutions for product development, production, marketing and quality assurance.
Eckes-Granini, as 100% owner, announced that Wolfgang Jobmann will continue to operate independently under the leadership of Gerd Gründahl and that no organisational changes are planned. The purchase price was not disclosed by the company.
Eckes-Granini employing around 1,700 people, is a major player in the fruit juice market with a turnover of €917 million in 2022. The company suffered a significant drop in profits in the same year, with EBIT falling from €55 million to €2 million.
Juices remain popular in Germany, but consumption is falling while producers face rising costs.
