We know what you will eat this summer!
Róbert Szabó, own brand specialist of METRO talked to our magazine about the wholesaler’s “workforce-saving” products for the summer peak period in bars and restaurants.
He told that demand remains high for classic street food dishes such as gyros, hamburger, taco or pulled meat sandwich. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are popular, and HoReCa units also like to buy single-serve products, e.g. butter, jam, etc, for breakfast use.
METRO Chef Veggie products can substitute meat. From these quick-frozen, ready-to-cook products in HoReCa-friendly packaging it is the gyros, hamburger and pulled meat alternatives that are the most popular, which taste and look just like meat.
Some of METRO’s own brand products were developed in Hungary: Metro Chef frozen breaded Trappist cheese and breaded vegetables satisfy typically Hungarian consumer needs, and the same is true for METRO Chef Kentucky hot chicken wings, another Hungarian product innovation.
METRO’s coffee house brand is RIOBA, and this also offers several different syrups for flavouring iced coffee, cocktails and lemonades. METRO Chef ice creams and sorbets are a perfect match for certain METRO Chef frozen desserts such as lemon cake or molten cake. (x)
