Magazine: A quality relationship
METRO was one of the main sponsors of the end-of-year gala dinner of the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI). Our magazine interviewed Ákos Bősze, the company’s target group manager who is responsible for the HoReCa segment.

célcsoportvezető METRO
– METRO is a dedicated supporter of the Hungarian HoReCa sector, for instance by playing a role in trade education. We are also proud that Tibor Rosenstein receives the Gundel Award this year – it is an honour to welcome him in our stores day after day.
What do you think about the quality of Hungarian gastronomy at the moment?
– I am happy to see how colourful and diverse Hungarian gastronomy has become, but the workforce shortage makes it difficult to stabilise the current level.
What is your opinion on the culinary trends of the last few years?
– They are developing dynamically, changing and offering something different all the time. METRO also contributes to this trend by offering a bigger and more diverse selection of products than before.
Which is your favourite culinary style?
– I like fast casual restaurants: they don’t have too many dishes on the menu, they are comfortable, stylish but laid back places, where one can get an insight into how local ingredients are used, too.
How do you think Ádám Pohner will perform in the Lyon final of Bocuse d’Or?
– Ádám is only 25 years old, so he will be the youngest competitor in the Lyon final. He is very talented and creative, and he is training hard to give his best in the final. I think his performance will be superb.//
