McDonald’s came up with a spicy innovation
McDonald’s has launched a unique marketing campaign in the Netherlands, in which they put up posters that give off the smell of fries, without any visual elements.
According to the company, the smell alone is enough to attract guests. The billboards will be placed in places that are 650 meters away from the restaurants. According to the marketing director of McDonald’s in the Netherlands, the use of scents opens up a new dimension in advertising, as they can evoke powerful and emotional memories in people, thereby making the time spent at McDonald’s more attractive.
