Persuasion-free advertisements
The Self-regulatory Advertising Board (ÖRT) analysed 1,211 advertisements in the press and on television in the November period, in order to find out whether they contain ‘persuasion’: are children asked to convince their parents or others to buy the advertised product for them. Ildikó Fazekas, general secretary of ÖRT told: all ads passed the test in the sense that none of them did this or presented such a situation. Most of the advertisements introduced how to use the product and showed the joy of using it. The children’s ‘function’ in the advertisements was to symbolise the family. //
