The Hungarian meat industry faces a great opportunity
In addition to plant growers, animal breeders must also be put in a position, because in the Hungarian food industry, the greatest profit can be achieved with highly processed and high-quality meat and products made from it, said Dr. Márton Nobilis, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, VI. On Meat Industry Professional Day, Budapest, meat-free Tuesday.

He explained that the food industry is a key strategic sector for Hungary, as it also strengthens the country’s sovereignty. That is why the Hungarian government decided to increase the previous HUF 468 billion subsidy to HUF 750 billion in this EU cycle. This is a huge opportunity for players in the sector, added the state secretary.
Dr. Márton Nobilis explained that the meat industry also needs improvements
Resources must be provided for the renewal of technology, the development of sustainability, food quality and food safety. Solving the sector’s difficulties can be helped by cooperation and collaboration between the players in the field. The Ministry of Agriculture also pays special attention to the training of suitable and well-prepared specialists. This goal is supported by the establishment of the Agricultural Training Centers established in 2020. Combining the development areas can create an opportunity to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of the Hungarian meat industry in both the domestic and international markets, the state secretary added.
