The Unilever incites for sustainability in Hungary
Non-hazardous waste dumping has been terminated in all three domestic Unilever factories. The Mintafarm program has started for the Hungarian farmers. A research has also started to assess and change the domestic consumer habits. The Unilever Magyarország published its latest sustainability report on the most important global and national achievements carried out in 2014.
The Unilever has achieved good results in Hungary in the implementation of the Sustainability Plan. The company has three factories in Hungary; the Household Chemical Factory in Nyírbátor, the Ice-cream Factory in Veszprém and the Food Factory in Röszke. Thanks to the improvements, the company's environmental footprint has significantly reduced in the past few years. The non-hazardous waste dumping has been terminated in all three domestic Unilever factories, ie all possible waste is being recycled. Carbon dioxide emissions from energy use decreased by by 17%, while water consumption decreased by 8% during 2014 in the factories.
