Research: Hungarian employees are mostly supportive of people with disabilities
Almost half of the majority of employees have already worked with people with disabilities and most of them have positive experiences with working together.
More than half of these employees stated that it was a good experience to work together, and 45 percent of them did not feel a significant difference compared to working with colleagues without impaired working ability. Among the rarely occurring but challenging factors in the course of work, Hungarian workers mostly mention the lack of experience with injured people and the resulting insecurity, according to the latest research conducted by Profession.hu on the subject.
Workplaces can be important arenas for the mutual experience of disabled and majority employees. 15 percent of the surveyed employees have a person with a disability in their family or relatives, but 41 percent of the respondents already had experience with a MMK colleague during their employment.
In most cases, the majority of employees interviewed worked with a colleague with a mobility impairment (54%), 27% stated that they were hearing impaired, 18% that they had an intellectual disability, 15% that they were visually impaired and 8% that they had an autistic colleague.
