A turnaround is expected in the labor market, but its extent is not yet visible
This summer, companies scaled back the intensity of their recruitment, but there is still no noticeable change in the labor market. There were fewer job advertisements this year in the period from June to August than in the same period last year, but job seekers are more active on the labor market than before.
The increase in wage increases and the factors that most often influence them show that companies are increasingly clinging to their employees and are increasingly focusing on retention instead of recruitment, according to Profession.hu’s data and recent, representative research.
In this summer period, the number of advertisements on the Profession.hu website decreased compared to last year, and job seekers are more active on the labor market. The rising number of job seekers is indicated by the fact that more workers registered on the Profession.hu website in the summer of 2022 than in the same period last year: in June this year, 28 percent more people and in August 38 percent more people registered their profiles on the portal than in the same months of 2021.
