Brexit brought a customs duty
The United Kingdom exited from the European Union (EU) on 1 February 2020 and also left the EU customs union on 1 January 2021, so Hungarian traders, businesses and citizens may experience significant changes due to Brexit – origo quotes NAV’s statement.
The departure of the United Kingdom from the EU also means that it will be considered a “third country”, ie a non-EU country, from 1 January 2021. The exception to this is Northern Ireland, where the EU’s customs, VAT and statistical legislation shall continue to apply. (origo)
