Only 3 from 10 consumers can imagine living their lives without the internet. The number of online transactions is growing – a large proportion of these are made using smart devices, because they are safe and comfortable. At the same time 86 percent of respondents feel the rate of technological and others changes is too fast. In the region it is Hungarians who are the least afraid of losing their private lives due to the rapid spreading of new technologies (the average was 71 percent, but only 52 percent was measured in Hungary).
Participants from all four countries agreed that social media companies have too big a power over consumers. Half of Hungarian consumers believe that online or telephone consultations with doctors will have a future in healthcare. Men, young people and those with a college or university degree are especially hopeful about this (55-60 percent). Data collected by technological innovations such as the smart watch or health monitoring applications can contribute to the spreading of telemedicine services.
Online conquest in financial affairs too
Another sector affected strongly by the conquest of the online world is likely to be finances and banking in 2022. 74 percent of consumers in the region and 77 percent of Hungarian responders are now using comparison websites and online calculators before choosing financial services. Every other consumer said they feel physical banks are less important in their financial transactions than they used to be. 45 percent of consumers in these four countries (and 44 percent of Hungarians) can imagine choosing the services of a bank without a physical branch. //
