At the event organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the existence of the European Union eco-label, Anikó Raisz highlighted: if people see this certification label, they can be sure that the given product complies with environmental protection standards from production to disposal and that its use is less burdensome on the environment. The criteria for obtaining the eco-label include aspects such as sustainability, energy saving, reduction of pollutant emissions, product durability, and the exclusion of the use of hazardous substances.

Environmental protection in the field of products and services is becoming more and more important for consumers

According to the state secretary, consumers’ environmental awareness has been increasing in Hungary in recent years, and all of this has an encouraging effect on manufacturers, distributors and service providers. He pointed out that the eco-label can be obtained by those manufacturers and companies that want to use the benefits of sustainability to increase efficiency, and in addition, their goal is stable, future-oriented and sustainable business. Because of all this, Anikó Raisz believed that the eco-label is actually an award for achievements in the field of environmental sustainability. He said the eco-label is a symbol of how a society and economy come together for a better future. The development of environmentally friendly shopping habits encourages manufacturers, service providers and distributors to produce products with good quality and favorable environmental properties, i.e. to develop an environmentally friendly economic structure. – he added. – I am confident that the eco-label will become an important environmental and consumption policy tool in Hungary as well. – said the state secretary, who also noted that their plans include, for example, providing support for the administrative costs necessary to obtain the eco-label.
