SPAR – we are speaking the same language
From 9 March 2015 Zsolt Szalay is SPAR Hungary’s head of sales responsible for INTERPSAR hypermarkets. The new director was born in Orosháza in 1971 and earned a degree in international relations at Corvinus University of Budapest in 1996. He speaks 6 languages and his mastery of the French language helped him land a job at L’Oréal Hungary, which was later followed by stints at Porsche Hungary and Michelin Europe. In 2002 he joined the MOL team and in 2006 moved to Bucharest with his family to work as managing director of MOL Romania. In this period he increased the efficiency of the company’s 125-unit premium petrol station chain. The year 2010 found him in Mantova, Italy as the managing director of MOL affiliate IES. In this position he managed to overcome the problems caused by the economic recession. Zsolt Szalay returned to Hungary in 2013 and in the fall of 2014 he accepted a job offer from SPAR Hungary. He was soon feeling at home at SPAR, thanks to the Austrian way of organising things, a friendly atmosphere and dedicated colleagues. Mr Szalay told about his new position as head of INTERPAR hypermarket sales that it is a great advantage that everyone speaks the same language and has the same cultural background. His main objectives are to strengthen the SPAR brand further and to acquire more loyal and satisfied customers. (x)
