There are many employees applying for jobs – now is the time to recruit
In the second quarter of 2023, employee activity on the domestic labor market continued to increase. The number of applications received for job advertisements increased in all counties of the country: by an average of 44% compared to the same period of the previous year. The largest increase can be measured proportionately in Budapest, Békés and Pest counties. However, the number of advertised jobs has decreased throughout the country, according to the current quarterly report of Profession.hu.
Profession.hu has prepared its latest quarterly report. Based on its own database, the job portal analyzed the situation of the domestic labor market with regard to employers’ recruitment trends, as well as employees’ job search preferences and opportunities. The registered staff of Hungary’s most visited job portal increased by 8% compared to the second quarter of 2022 and there are 10% more jobseekers.
“At this time last year, positions waiting to be filled were constantly appearing on the labor market, and companies were recruiting with unprecedented intensity: compared to the same period in 2021, by June 2022, 25% more jobs were advertised on Profession.hu. After that, by the fall of 2022, the activity of employers moderated and the employee side revived. This trend has persisted and has now significantly strengthened. However, the overall picture is clouded by the fact that we still cannot talk about the end of the labor shortage, as there are areas where recruiting, finding and hiring the right professionals are still a challenge for companies.”
– István Martis, the executive director of Profession.hu, completes the data.
