A revolutionary system for providing extra nutrients to plants is being developed in Hungary
TS Labor Kft. is developing a system for the extra nutrient supply of plants with EU support in cooperation with Pannónia Medicina Zrt. and the University of Szeged – the public relations directorate of the higher education institution informed MTI.
One of the most dynamic sectors in the development of agrotechnology is the group of soilless plant cultivation methods. One of these is hydroponics, where the roots of plants absorb the necessary nutrients by being immersed in a special nutrient solution. With this method, it is possible to grow many types of food, fodder and herbs vertically.
In practice, however, hydroponic procedures are not optimized
Setting the physical, chemical and biological parameters of the systems is a complex challenge, so the design of the systems requires compromise solutions. The hydroponic delivery of nutrients with nanoparticle colloids offers a new opportunity to optimize the method, since the parameters can be adjusted to the needs of the given plant with the help of the appropriate surface stabilization of the particles. In the project, a special preservation process is developed for plants grown using the hydroponic method, which preserves their improved content values.
The total cost of the project until the spring of 2025 is HUF 887 million, of which 68.27 percent is covered by EU funding.
