Nielsen: ham and chocolate bunnies are dethroneable at Easter
The Easter season causes no surprises. Hungarians buy tons of cooked ham and a chocolate bunnies. The ham retail sales exceeded 7 billion HUF in March-April 2016, which is two percent higher than the turnover of the same period of last year.
In terms of volume, sales increased by three percent. The demand decreased towards seasonal sweets. In terms of value demand towards seasonal sweets decreased by 9 percent in terms of volume decreased by 11 percent, compared to the Easter season of 2015 – Nielsen’s food retail index measuring ninety categories reveals.
