NGM: State Secretary Gergely Fábián received a delegation of Italian agricultural and food industry associations
Gergely Fábián, the State Secretary responsible for industrial policy and technology of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM), received the representatives of the Italian agricultural and food industry associations Coldiretti and Filiera Italia in his office, the ministry announced in a statement on Friday.
Coldiretti and Filiera Italia play a significant role in the development of Italian economic life. At the meeting, the parties outlined the strategic areas of potential cooperation between Hungary and Italy, mutual investment opportunities, and shared good practices in the field of food safety and the food industry, they wrote in the announcement.
Gergely Fábián emphasized that channeling the needs and opinions of market participants will be a priority during Hungary’s EU presidency.
At the meeting, it was established that the war and the unenforceable regulations at the European level, which set back our own economy, put the food industry in a difficult situation. They pointed out that it is important for both the Italian and Hungarian sides to apply a food industry strategy that, in addition to technological development, also pays special attention to the protection of products produced on the internal market.
