Eszter Benedek, managing director of the organiser Hungarian Product Nonprofit Kft. emphasised: their goal is to help Hungarian SMEs by sharing knowledge, building relationships and providing useful information. Gábor Daróczi, SME Budapest regional director of CIB Bank was the first presenter. He explained that SME lending dynamics slowed down last year and the year before. This trend has stopped by now, but there is no significant upturn yet. Imre Pintér-Péntek, general vice president of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the new leadership of the chamber has brought a new attitude to the organisation. Richárd Szabados, state secretary of the Ministry for National Economy introduced the SME part of the Demján Sándor Programme. This will mobilise HUF 1,400bn worth of resources to improve the productivity of domestic SMEs, with entrepreneurs contributing a further HUF 1,400bn.
A roundtable discussion followed where participants, Dirk Wölfer, head of communication at German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce, Andrea Prohászka, managing director of Tutti Kft., Tamás Molnár, deputy director of Herman Ottó Institute, and László Varga, product director of Auchan Magyarország Kft. analysed the challenges facing the food industry. //
