The GKI sentiment index increased slightly in May
The decline of the GKI sentiment index has stopped in May. The index declined since January. The index increased slightly. According to the research of GKI (www.gki.hu), carried out with EU support, the business confidence index remained unchanged compared to April, however the consumer confidence index approached this year's peak.
Within the business sphere, the industrial and commercial confidence indicators both rose, however the construction and service confidence index declined. The industrial expectations, despite the improvement have not reached the level of March. The recent period’s judgment deteriorated compared to April, however opinion on the prospects for stocks and orders – including orders for export -have improved.
