The Budapest Airport received significant environmental recognition
Another, outstandingly important international environmental award was awarded to the Budapest Airport: ACI, the International Council for Airports, acknowledged that the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport had reached the so-called “carbon-neutral” rating – tozsdeforum.hu wrote.
The accreditation program established by ACI has shown that the Budapest Airport maintains its energy balance and energy production throughout its operation. Carbon neutrality means achieving this state, because conventional, fossil energy use always causes carbon dioxide emissions, increasing carbon footprints. In Europe, there are barely thirty airports belonging to the group of carbon-neutral airports. (tozsdeforum.hu)
