More muscular body care segment
According to Zsófia Gózon-Karajz, L’Oréal Magyarország Kft.’s trade marketing manager, global demand keeps rising for body care products. “Body care is important in every season, even though our skin is exposed to different impacts in the spring-summer period than in autumn-winter. Accordingly, shoppers want to buy different products every season: products with richer texture and warmer scent in the winter, and lighter-texture products with refreshing, fruity scent in the summer.”
Petra Lambert, Henkel Beauty Care Hungary’s senior brand manager explained that consumers purchase much more deodorant and shower gel in the summer and before Christmas, while skin care products sell the best in the autumn-winter period. “In skin care we focus on the Barnängen brand at the moment, as our body lotions and hand creams protect the skin from dehydrating” – said the senior brand manager.
Viktória Szabó, Johnson & Johnson Kft.’s senior brand and shopper activation manager added that consumers have become more conscious in their skin care product buying. “Besides the fact that skin care is important throughout the year, in the winter those products are much more popular which effectively moisturise the skin that gets dry in the cold weather.”
Innovation and traditions
L’Oréal Magyarország Kft.’s Garnier Repairing Care body lotion is very popular, thanks to its maple extract with a very powerful regenerating effect. This year the company launched a new 4-product body care range, called Garnier body superfood. These products are special because they contain superfoods (avocado, aloe vera, watermelon, cocoa butter) and active ingredients (omega 3, magnesium, hyaluronic acid, ceramide), and they are made from 96% natural ingredients.
From Johnson & Johnson’s products light-texture Hydro boost is the most popular in the summer, and in autumn-winter Neutrogena Norwegian Formula body lotions, Intense Repair and Deep moisture are the best-sellers. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula is 50 years old in 2022, so the brand is celebrating with hand creams in limited edition packaging. //
