Another successful trade fair presence by the Future Store
Trade magazin, the official journal of SIRHA Budapest 2024 was present at the trade fair with its traditional Future Store Innovations stand, showcasing the latest product innovations, technological solutions and services on 800m² to nearly 1,500 visitors in three days.

The innovations presented by the 25 partner companies were introduced in the form of guided tours, starting every 30 minutes. Some of the new products, devices and services presented in this year’s Future Store made their debut here, but we believe they will be successfully put on the market and will be seen in many points of sale in the coming years.
This year the store of the future focused on technology and services concentrating on the customer experience, while in the case of product innovations sustainability was in the spotlight.
Safe glass bottle delivery from DPD
Future Store visitors started the tour in the parking lot, where a parcel was just being delivered by DPD. The company’s new service gives a full guarantee on the delivery of valuable wines, spirits, juices or even Christmas presents.
DPD offers a 100% guarantee on all parcels and in the event of damage to the product, they will reimburse the value of the transport, packaging and the goods up to HUF 100,000.
The MOHU van goes to return points
With its mobile reverse vending machine (RVM) turning up at manual return points, MOHU’s service is special because it starts processing beverage containers immediately on the spot: crushing the glass and pressing the cans, which take up much less space when compressed and are therefore more economical to transport. The mandatory return system for domestically marketed drink products with a HUF 50 return fee – called deposit refund system (DRS) – was introduced in Hungary on 1 January 2024. Drink container return is possible via RVMs in stores bigger than 400m².
Visitors could enter the Future Store through FAAC Airslide automatic sliding doors combined with an air curtain. This solution is up to 25% more efficient than installing two separate products. In addition to convenience, one of the benefits of using this system is that it minimises the unnecessary cost of doors left open – and by this heating or cooling the street.
Earlier this year Household Panel-YouGov surveyed its panel members about their online shopping habits, app use, payment methods and some retail innovations. 3,246 heads of household took part in the survey, and the research results were reported in detail in issue 4 of Trade magazin.
Solutions by Wanzl
The sliding door is a stylish door solution with features that can be tailored to the processes and requirements of the given store. It can be installed in both entrance and exit zones, and identified access is possible with a mobile app-generated barcode or QR code. Wanzl shopping trolleys with a HybridLoc work with both a traditional coin lock and a digital lock.
One of the highlights in every store is the bakery zone, where the Bakeoff display system makes it possible to present bakery products in a hygienic and stylish way. The Wanzl mobile workstation is the ideal solution for doing warehousing and logistics tasks that often involve multiple trips back and forth between the office and the warehouse.
The most popular products in Vitamin Szalon Kft.’s I Like it Fresh product range are 100% fruit and vegetable juices, made without additives or water, freshly prepared in-store according to the company’s own recipes. These snacks are available in several vegetable variations, with different creams.
Ceres Csigusz

In addition to bringing their Joya, Happy, Lunter products to the Future Store, the company also showcased the replacement of PET bottles with Re-Pet bottles – which are 50-100% recycled – in the production of NÖM and Good Milk dairy products. In 2023 a new state-of-the-art production line was installed and Good Milk Elopak yogurt drinks were launched, developed specifically for the Hungarian market. The Green Heart organic range is dedicated to healthy vegan and vegetarian nutrition.
Epta International Kft. presented its Costan brand, which specialises in IARP and commercial refrigerators that are popular in the Food & Beverage and HoReCa sectors. The refrigerators on display in Future Store can be connected via the LineOn system. This analyses the temperature, humidity level and energy consumption to guarantee the quality of the products displayed, less maintenance work and greater efficiency. The company’s Delight 9 ice cream cabinet can be converted into a pastry counter.
New generation solutions from Bizerba
New generation Bizerba scales are ideal for retail sales. From counter service to pre-packing and labelling, the company’s self-service solutions in the fruit-vegetable department support self-service checkout operations. LED is a hit at Digital Advertising
The various LED walls and interactive surfaces of DigitálisReklám.hu Kft. are following global trends and attracting attention in the already diverse in-store world of retail trade. LED walls, LED posters and LED kiosks with their outstanding size and brightness are very effective advertising media and an indispensable part of communication campaigns.
The interactive shelving system combines the possibilities offered by traditional in-store displays and modern digital technology: infrared motion sensors make communication with customers interactive.
Artmatch manufactures store fittings and in-store promotional displays as the largest company in the region with this profile. They brought a real revolutionary innovation, the Faster display to the Future Store: a pop-up display that sales reps can install in just 20 seconds, and in line with the current FMCG trends, the display also meets sustainability requirements, because it doesn’t contain any plastic despite having heavy-duty shelves.
KitKat is one of the most popular chocolate bars in Hungary and recently the brand has added new flavours to its portfolio. KitKat breakfast cereal evokes this cult wafer flavour and chocolate taste, offering a special breakfast experience.
The unique taste of Nesquik® can be enjoyed by consumers of all ages, in a variety of flavours and shapes.
