Inflation: 9 out of 10 Austrians already feel the rise in prices
According to a survey released by the Ipsos polling institute on Thursday, nine out of ten in Austria already feel the effects of inflation on their daily lives, especially when shopping and refueling. According to the survey, more than half of the 500 respondents plan to give up non-vital purchases in the near future.
The most striking price increase was seen by 81 per cent of those surveyed in everyday shopping. The rate of increase in fuel prices was considered uncomfortably high by 80 percent of those surveyed, and heating fees by 63 percent. An increase in housing or rent affects 46 percent uncomfortably.
