Magazine: Retailer of the Year competition organised for the second time
Mastercard organised the Retailer of the Year competition for the second time. There were 30 entries in 3+1 categories, which were evaluated by a jury of six independent experts. One of the most popular categories was the Best customer experience category, with 21 competitors. The winner turned out to be Cybergastro Zrt., with social restaurant and marketplace KAJAHU. SPAR Hungary was the runner-up with their INTERSPAR store project in Érd, while the bronze medal went to City Taxi for their ‘Budapest used to be like this’ service.
In the Best multichannel selling category Decathlon proved to be the best, with their highly innovative solutions. Second-placed BOOK 24 operates a multi-channel selling system that includes a physical shop, a vending machine and a mobile app. Grocery retailer Online Príma Hungary finished in the third place.
In the Best mobile app with digital payment category IMO Hungary Kft. won with their IMO Smart application: by using this drivers can easily find the nearest IMO car wash, select the wash programme and pay for the service with their bank card. The jury decided that the competition’s overall winner was Cybergastro Zrt. for KAJAHU.Endre Eölyüs, Mastercard’s country manager for Hungary and Slovakia told that the large number and the quality of competition entries indicate that the contest has its place in the Hungarian market.
The winners were ceremonially announced at Business Days 2017 conference in Tapolca, on 27 September 2017. Category winners are entitled to use the ‘Retailer of the Year 2017’ logo and marking for a year. The competition was organised by Wonderduck Agency and its media partner was Trade magazine. //
