GKI continued to grow in July after rising in May-June

The value of the GKI consumer confidence index rose by 11.3 points in May due to the slow decay of the coronavirus and the easing of strong uncertainty in April, then increased by 5.7 points in June and 5.9 points in July (seasonally adjusted), processing 61 percent of the April fall – the GKI Economic Research Ltd. informed MTI based on the data of its latest online survey.

The value of the consumer confidence index rose to minus 26.9 points in July from minus 32.8 points in June.

In July, the population assesses the development of its own financial situation as moderately improving. This indicator decreased from an average level close to zero in March to -28.1 points, then continuously improved from May, rising by 3.1 points to -9.5 points in July, thus 67 percent of the April fall has already been worked out.
