Walking out of the store means you have already paid
Kende Retail Operation and Mastercard revolutionise the working of physical stores
Just taking a product off the shelf and walking out of the store – this is a really attractive idea for shoppers who are always in a hurry. New technology by Kende Retail Operation, with support from Mastercard, makes shopping possible in unmanned stores every hour of the day, by this combining the comfort of e-commerce with the benefits of shopping in a brick-and-mortar store. The system uses cameras and weight sensors to monitor the shopping process. Customers need to download an app and pair it with their bank card before the shopping. At the end of the process payment is done automatically via the app, while the customer is leaving.
Kende Retail Operation’s system offers many advantages to retailers and shoppers alike. Customers don’t have to queue, so the shopping experience is better. As there is no checkout zone, more products can be displayed. The AI-based system analyses the data and gives real-time feedback, also preparing reports about turnover and stock, which helps the decision-making of managers. What is more, through the app information can also be gathered about customer satisfaction, which can be analysed together with other information about the shopping, e.g. how many minutes a customer spent in-store, which product they took off the shelf and which they put back, etc. (x)

“We are really proud to have brought this revolutionary innovation to Hungary, and in addition to the TAKE IT EASY! café, we could also implement it in a mobile container store. At the moment our company and Mastercard are working on making this type of shopping available with just a bank card, without the app, by this simplifying the process further.” //

“We at Mastercard can see that those solutions are spreading, in both online and offline shopping, which bring something completely new. The best example of this is the system developed by Kende Retail Operation. In this store the check-in is also the check-out, as the payment process occurs automatically in the background, and it is just as safe as any other type of card payment.” //
