Dreher Breweries has appointed a sustainability expert
Dreher Breweries, in line with its long-term sustainability objectives, has created a position of expert responsible for sustainability, which is held by Diána Damásdi.
As a sustainability expert, Diána Damásdi’s task is to coordinate the creation of the environmental protection and sustainability strategy of Dreher Breweries in line with the sustainability objectives of the Asahi Europe & International corporate group, and is also responsible for the development and implementation of the related transparent communication strategy. It includes, among other things, the performance of air cleanliness and water protection tasks, as well as the operation of the environment-oriented management system. He participates in sustainability projects at the company group level, in addition maintains contact between Dreher Breweries and the relevant regulatory authorities, monitors relevant environmental protection legislation, and also participates in supporting the field of occupational health and safety.
“It is an inspiring and honorable task to hold the position of sustainability expert at a company with a nearly 170-year history, where sustainability has always been important. At Dreher, great emphasis is placed on environmental awareness – it was one of the first in the Hungarian food industry to introduce an environment-oriented management system according to ISO 14001 and issued a sustainability report. I consider it an exciting task to be able to work on the implementation of the long-term sustainability goals set at the company group level at the Dreher level,” said Diána Damásdi.
Diána Damásdi obtained a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering at the University of Szeged, and her master’s degree at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering of the Budapest University of Technology. He joined Dreher from Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft., where he spent six years as an environmental engineer. Here, among other things, he participated in the monitoring of environmental legal compliance and the operation and continuous development of the environmentally-oriented management system (ISO14001), as well as the annually certified environmental management and certification system (EMAS) of the European Union.
