Gergely Fábián: integrated, data-based development in the food industry improves competitiveness and security of supply
In the food industry, the competitiveness of the sector can be increased with the integrated, data-based development of the product path, which also contributes to security of supply and sustainability, said Gergely Fábián, the State Secretary responsible for industrial policy and technology of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) at the event of the Cibus Hungaricus Foundation on Wednesday in Budapest.
He pointed out that the Cibus Hungaricus Foundation, established in 2023 with the participation of the five universities, strives to establish technology-based cooperation between producers and companies operating in the food industry, which extends to the Carpathian basin with the involvement of farmers across the border.
The technology is worth something if we can properly manage and use the data throughout the product’s entire life cycle, through the supply chain from the farmland to the consumer, he added.
