Eurofins Group is now present in more markets of the region

On 11 January 2018 Gyula-based Food Analytica Kft. joined Eurofins Group, the world leader food laboratory testing network, seated in Luxembourg. Eurofins was established in France in 1987 and today it is present in 42 countries all over the world, giving work to 30,000 people in 400 laboratories, who use 150,000 analytic methods.With these methods experts characterise the safety, identity, purity, composition, authenticity and origin of products and biological substances.

In 2016 Eurofins set up an affiliate, Eurofins Food Analytics Hungary Kft. However, instead of building their own laboratory, they teamed up with Food Analytica Kft. who have their own laboratories – informed Alex Kishonti, managing director of Eurofins Kft. The Gyula-based company kept its management and continues to operate as a decentralised organisation, in close cooperation with Eurofins Hungary.

At the moment Food Analytica Kft. has one of the most modern testing facilities and methods in Central and Eastern Europe, offering comprehensive services in food and animal feed laboratory testing. They employ 90 people in 4 laboratories located in South East Hungary. In 2017 their annual sales grew by 12 percent to HUF 950 million. Managing director Dr Csaba Ábrahám told: it is an honour and a great challenge to have joined such an important group. The next steps to be taken now are harmonising the IT systems and integrating the company into the international network. (x)
