More restaurants want sustainability certification
According to the Responsible Gastro Hero Foundation, in the last 2-3 years, much more eco-friendly restaurants and cafés earned the Sustainable Hospitality Unit certification than before. Currently, 52 restaurants, cafés, school and workplace cafeterias are certified to operate sustainably.
Places must meet 7 criteria in the domains of sourcing, hygiene and packaging material to get the certification. After the first steps some restaurants took the eco-friendly operation to another level, e.g. KIOSK Budapest started to fight food waste, while Czakó Kert and Szimpla Kert purchase farm produce at their own weekend markets. //
