Confectionery manufacturers may see a decline in Christmas candy sales this year
Sánta Sándor highlighted that the most popular seasonal sweets at the end of the year were Santa’s chocolate figurine and Christmas candy. We can expect the purchase of about 3,500 tons of Christmas candy and 8 million pieces of Santa Claus a year, as well as 350,000 Advent calendars.
About this year’s Christmas season, he said traders are ordering a little more cautiously, about 10 percent less, due to a dramatic drop in demand for Easter sweets and hollow figures at the start of the pandemic. (MTI)
