A quarter of women and 30% of men want to live at least 91 years. Every 2nd of our compatriots would like to travel more and spend more time with their family and friends, but there are also those who feel that they would spend their extra years reading, renovating their house, trying new sports or just making love. According to the vast majority of respondents, the main obstacle to a long, active life is stress.

Every second Hungarian would travel more and spend more time with family and friends if they could have an extra five years of active life – data from a representative survey by HonestFood show*. More cultural experiences, movement, learning new knowledge, even helping activities and saving the planet are included in the desires of 1-2 people out of ten, but there are also those who would read fiction until they suffocate, try new sports, build a house, make love in their extra years, and there are those who specifically apply for the Guinness record of Mori Hamako, the world’s oldest gamer.

Why did HonestFood’s research ask for exactly five years? Based on Eurostat data, the average life expectancy at birth in Hungary in 2021 was 74.5 years, while in the EU it was 5.6 years higher, at 80.1 years.

“One of the cornerstones of HonestFood is the protection of human health. A healthy society means a happier, more productive and less expensive social security. We would like Hungarian people to live more active and healthy years. But this requires a change of attitude, since a significant number of Hungarians admit that they exercise little and do not eat consciously. We initiated this research in order to draw attention to the importance of a health-conscious lifestyle in collaboration with credible public figures and to motivate people”

– said Giacomo Pedranzini, managing director of Kometa, creator of the HonestFood concept.
