CNRS: organic farming may be able to supply Europe by 2050
A sustainable, biodiversity-friendly agri-food system based on organic farming could be implemented in Europe, allowing a balanced coexistence of agriculture and the environment, according to scientists from the French National Research Center (CNRS).
As the study published in the journal One Earth shows, the scenario proposed by the researchers would have three basic elements – the PhysOrg science-knowledge news portal wrote.
The first would be to change the diet of Europeans, to consume fewer animal products, which would limit intensive animal husbandry and eliminate feed imports. (MTI)
