The EC would provide additional support to help economic operators
According to the European Commission, economic operators need additional support due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the panel is proposing to extend the deadline for the application of temporary state aid rules to alleviate the damage caused by the pandemic until the end of the year, the Brussels panel said on Wednesday.
EU competition commissioner Margrethe Vestager said the second wave of the pandemic continues to hit European economies, so companies need more support to survive the crisis. She added that the committee would increase the amount of support available to companies, with a view to maintaining a level playing field in the single market. (MTI)
