AKI: Poultry meat export to Hong Kong reaches record level
Data from the Agricultural Economics Research Institute (AKI) and KSH’s market price information system (PÁIR) revealed that Hungary’s poultry meat export dropped 18 percent to 43,000 tons in the first three months of 2017 if compared with the first three months of 2016. Our biggest export market was Romania with 9.4 thousand tons, but export growth was the biggest, 222 percent in trading with Hong Kong, where we sold 2.2 thousand tons of poultry meat.
According to data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH), the consumer price of 2.8-percent fat milk jumped 9 percent, just like that of Trappist cheese. 1.5-percent fat milk became 11 percent more expensive. On Week 23 of 2017 the price of pig was 20 percent higher in the European Union than in the same period of 2016.
