Shoppers are loyal in the premium coffee category – This is how Costa Coffee sees the market
Annual coffee consumption will be more than 19,000 tonnes in Hungary in 2022, and this represents a value of HUF 67 billion. Coca-Cola HBC Magyarország’s experience is that the category performed well last year, but this year – due to elevating prices in the coffee market – the segment’s expansion slowed down.
Consumer don’t give up quality
Yet, demand has remained high for quality coffee, and this is also visible in the sales results of Coca-Cola HBC Magyarország’s Costa Coffee products. Costae Coffee had a 2.3% market share in the premium segment at the end of July 2022.
Costa Coffee products are made exclusively from coffee beans that come from Rainforest Alliance Certified sources. Costa Coffee is cosmopolitan, modern and youthful, inspiring the world to love excellent coffee. In its autumn consumer promotion, the brand puts memorable but not so perfect moments in the spotlight, to teach us to see the good thing in negative situations too.
New products in the Costa Coffee selection
This year Costa Coffee rolls out two new products: dark roast Caffe Crema, a blend of Arabica from Latin America and Robust sourced from Asia, came out in the summer. November brings the debut of a new espresso, called Costa Coffee Honduran Roast. This single origin, medium dark roast capsule coffee is made from carefully selected, 100% Arabica coffee beans.
