A treasure of the Hungarian Sea
Doctor Balaton is the title of TV2 Group’s fully Hungarian daily television series, which started at the end of December 2020. The story unfolds in the Lake Balaton – the ‘Hungarian Sea’ – region and it has been one of the most popular daily television programmes ever since: the 45 episodes of Season One had a 13.4-percent viewing rate in the main commercial target group (A18-59).
Erika Csikesz, sales director of the TV2 Group told: a successful daily series creates many opportunities for advertisers, especially if there is a connection between the theme of the programme and the customer’s communication plans. Brewing company Csíki Sör and Doctor Balaton found this connection instantly, so product placement could be implemented naturally. Csíki Sör backed this product placement with commercial messages, which resulted in an exciting long-term partnership that suits the show’s image very well.
On behalf of Csíki Sör Hungary creative director Dávid Gerendás spoke about how important it is for the craft beer company to promote their products in a way that suits the brewery and the brand the best. They wanted to present their beers in an environment where not only the product appears, but the joy of beer drinking is also visible. Natural ingredients are important in brewing and showing the products in a natural environment reflects this in the television series. (x)
