In addition to NAK, the Czech, Polish and Slovak Chambers of Agriculture also support the citizens’ initiative
In addition to the NAK, the other three agricultural chambers of the Visegrad Four also support the European citizens’ initiative launched to preserve the values of the countryside.
Nowadays, the rural regions of the European Union are constantly losing part of their population, heritage, values, and traditions related to agriculture, thanks to, for example, the anti-agrarianism incited by radical green organizations and a part of society. This could endanger EU agriculture and the safe food supply of its population. The “Protect our rural areas!” (Together for heritage protection) aims to contribute to the preservation of the values associated with the countryside and the areas and communities of the EU used for food production.
Contrast between environmentalists and agriculture
In recent years, there has been a significant increase in attacks on agriculture by radical environmental protection organizations and a part of society, especially in Western Europe, but also in more eastern countries. Given that the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and the Czech, Polish, and Slovak Chambers of Agriculture consider restoring the dignity of those active in agriculture to be a priority task, all four organizations joined the European citizens’ initiative launched to protect the EU’s rural heritage and food security.
