Auchan stores modernised to become more sustainable
In 2021 Auchan started giving five stores an overhaul, making their operation more sustainable by replacing refrigerators with energy-saving ones. The modernisation has focused primarily on the sales area and state-of-the-art seasonal promotion zones were also created.
Richárd Kalmár, director of Auchan’s operations in the Budapest region told: they plan to continue this modernisation project in all stores and warehouses. They also work hard to reduce Auchan’s carbon footprint – soon the retailer will start the installation of rooftop solar panels. With this step Auchan’s CO2 emission will become 7,600 tonnes smaller.
