Carrefour introduces the blockchain technology in Europe
Launching the blockchain technology is an integral part of the retail chain’s restructuring plan, ‘Carrefour2022’. Blockchain is a secure digital database that can’t be falsified, in which all information sent by its users are stored. The technology is already being used with Carrefour Quality Line Auvergne chicken, and in 2018 it will be extended to eight more products – egg, cheese, milk, orange, tomato, salmon and minced beef steak – to better monitor their production.
