Turkey Association: turkey meat turnover may increase by 20 to 25 percent during the holiday season
Due to the growing demand turkey meat turnover may increase by around 20-25 percent, compared to the rest of the year in December, and the Hungarian Turkey Association expects 35 to 40 percent growth in exports.
The dominant supermarket chains sell turkey meat at a price similar to the previous years, with a retail price of around 1,500 HUF per kilogram, while at discounts it will cost about 50 percent less at discount prices, the association told MTI. (MTI)
