There was a county where the number of advertised jobs increased by a fifth, while elsewhere the number of advertised jobs decreased by the same amount – Profession.hu quarterly report
With the exception of two counties, the number of applications received for job advertisements increased in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year. The biggest increase occurred in the counties of Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Heves and Fejér. As in the past year and a half, the number of available jobs continues to decrease year-on-year, but it is only 2.9% lower than last year, the current quarterly report of Profession.hu pointed out.
Fluctuations in the domestic labor market are easing, labor supply and demand are converging. While last year at this time, the number of applications for job advertisements increased by 44% compared to the same period in 2022, now it is only 17% compared to the previous year. At the same time, 2.9% fewer job opportunities were published on the country’s most visited thematic job portal – this is also a more moderate difference compared to the 23% decrease shown in 2023.
“During the past two and a half years, the number of employed people has increased and the unemployment rate has also increased based on KSH data[1]. At the same time, the significant demand for labor experienced in 2022 is continuously reorganizing, the outstanding job advertisement numbers of that time have been replaced by a lower, stagnant recruitment rate on the employer side, but job seekers are more active. Analyzing the application trends, it can be seen that the salary designation has a significant impact on the applicants (e.g. in this quarter, 35% more applicants came to those ads looking for a mechanic, which include the available salary)”
– said Imre Tüzes, Business Development Director of Profession.hu.
