Losses and unused facilities at pig farmers
The Tolna county farmers have 10-12 HUF per kilogram losses on the sales of live pigs, and due to the decreases of stocks EU supported facilities remain unused – the Chairman of the Tolna county pig farmers told MTI on Friday.
Lengyel Lóránt explained that the cost price of live pigs in Tolna is 410 HUF, the open market price is around 360 HUF in case of purchaisng contract is reaches 400 HUF.
The losses are partially offseted by the 1500-2000 HUF per animal welfare support, but not all producers can make use of it, such as plants, which cannot provide barn holding technology – he added. He also noted that the Kapuvári Hús Zrt. owes with hundreds of millions HUF to Tolna county farmers. (MTI)
