Magazine: Hospitality 2019: A statistical report
Károly Zerényi has prepared the annual report of the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) on the current situation of the hospitality sector. Basically there were as many hospitality units, 51,000 in 2019 as in 2018. Their sales revenue was up more than 14 percent at HUF 1,466 billion. Consumer prices increased by 6.7 percent in the hospitality sector.
More than 400,000 people were employed in the tourism sector, from which every third was working in hospitality. On average their salary represented 60 percent of the national economy’s level. At the end of 2019, the proportion of unfilled positions in the sector was 2.2 percent. //
