Ceremony at the Gundel memorial plaque
The Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) celebrated the birthday of János Gundel (1844-1915) at his memorial plaque, with a silent commemoration.
At the ceremony – which took place at 1 Akadémia Street in the 5th district of Budapest – MVI president László Kovács told: the guild has always considered it an important task to preserve traditions.
On behalf of the family Dr János Gundel, a professor at BGE gave a brief retrospective of the founder of the world-famous restaurant dynasty. Dr Róbert Török, director general of the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism also attended the event this year. //
