Flood of imports from the EU
According to KSH data, the volume of foreign trade between January and October 2006 increased compared to the previous year. In terms of volume, exports grew by 16 per cent, while imports by 12. The HUF value of exports grew by 25 per cent, imports by 22 per cent, whereas the respective EUR figures are 16 per cent and 14 per cent. The expansion of retail turnover slowed down somewhat in October.
