New trends in the meat industry: IFFA 2025 focuses on sustainable protein sources
IFFA 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for the meat and protein industry, will be held in Frankfurt from 3 to 8 May 2025, where the focus will be on industry innovations and sustainable protein sources under the motto “Rethinking Meat and Proteins”.
Meat industry in the light of changing needs
IFFA brings together international players in the meat industry and alternative protein sources every three years. In addition to presenting the latest automation and digitalization technologies, environmental protection and energy efficiency play a prominent role. The aim of the trade fair is to provide answers to sustainability challenges and cost optimization issues affecting the meat industry market.
Meat substitute proteins in a separate section
For the first time, meat substitute proteins will be given a separate exhibition area, where technological innovations in the production of plant, cell cultured and insect proteins will be presented. The event offers visitors interested in new protein sources a unique opportunity to gain insight into the latest tools for protein extraction and fermentation.
“The new visual world is built on innovations in alternative proteins, sustainability and science, thereby supporting the industry to become smarter and more sustainable,” emphasized Johannes Schmid-Wiedersheim, IFFA Exhibition Director.
